My long-suffering beta tester has lost his Mac, so I need someone else.

The software I'm currently working on a a stellar generation and mapping
application for the Macintosh. So far it reads ASCII sector files, generates
standard or expanded systems, displays maps (colour or B&W) at three levels
of magnification (sector, subsector, system), prints out these maps (as well
as a 4-page sector hex map), and a few other features.

On the down-side, the code for expanding systems is still rather buggy and
doesn't fully support copy-and-paste yet.

Since T:TNE uses GDW's house system...

Does anyone know of a Dark Conspiracy or Twilight:2000 web page or news
group?

You can answer me in private - unless anyone else has any interest...

I've written a program called SUBGEN, a referee's utility to create entire
subsectors which conform to TNE rules, and allows you to print them out as
well. It is only available for MS-DOS platforms, however. The program is in its
final stages of bug swatting. The program has the following capabilities:

a) Subsector Generation. Entire subsectors can be created in just a few
seconds. It sure beats the heck out of a full day's worth of dice rolling! :)

b) Load/Save/Edit. All aspects of the subsector can be edited, and you can save
and load them.

c) Printing. Print out both the subsector map and the planet lists in full
Traveller: The New Era format.

d) Collapsing. Collapse a planet or a whole subsector.

If anyone thinks that GDW would have a legal problem with this program, please
let me know. :) I don't feel like getting sued.

Kevin
